Latest News: New Meisner One class starts February 7th!
Welcome to the Robert Mello Studio!
The Robert Mello Studio offers Meisner acting classes in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Students from The Robert Mello Studio have worked on DOZENS of TOP TV shows, in feature films, Broadway and off-Broadway. He has coached winners and nominees of THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD and THE TONY AWARD.
The Robert Mello Studio is dedicated to Meisner-based actor training. The Meisner Tecnnique is considered by many to be THE best technique for film and stage. Classes offer you a technique for crafting film, television and stage performances that are:
• Truthful
• Powerful
• Grounded, organic and natural
Through dedication, hard work, and a willingness to take risks, actors leave with a solid, time tested technique that instills a profound level of confidence that serves both performance and auditions.
THIS ISN'T YOUR PARENT'S MEISNER TECHNIQUE. Sanford Meisner created a brilliant technique - for his time. This is updated, faster, and works off of who actors are today, not the who they were in the 1950's and 1960's.
Robert's experience as a working actor, veteran teacher, working producer, and development executive offers students unique insight into the business and navigating through the challenges of being a professional actor in today's industry.
Robert's teaching style is compassionate, straight-forward and filled with joy and humor.
Teaching is Robert's greatest passion.
Who Is Robert Mello?
Currently producing on several independent features, Robert has taught this unique and highly effective Meisner-based acting technique for over a decade, and has coached or trained recipients of both the Tony award and the Emmy. His students work regularly in film and television, off-Broadway and Broadway. He is the former VP of Development for Hazy Mills Productions (having helped developed their hit show, HOT IN CLEVELAND) and has produced or developed pilots and scripts for FOX, FX, The CW, Showtime and CBS. A former actor himself, his experience both in front of, and behind the camera in both producing and casting, brings a unique perspective to his classes that few other teachers can offer.
